Welcome to Business for Dumbarton’s new Blogsite. Over the coming weeks and months we will be putting forward the ideas that the business people of Dumbarton would like to see implemented in the interests of the regeneration of the town. We’ll be presenting our own Action Plan, putting forward a Traffic Management Scheme which we believe will work to everyone’s benefit and commenting on the Masterplan currently being presented by West Dunbartonshire Council.
We all have an investment in, and a commitment to, Dumbarton’s success. We want to have a town where people can see improvement and renewal whilst retaining the traditional character of the centre. We want to see improved access for the disabled and the convenience shopper. In short we would like to see Dumbarton High Street and town centre upgraded and restored. We believe that our achievable reasonable aims are in the interests of all users of Dumbarton Town Centre.
It is our intention to engage in a positive manner with WDC. One example of this is that ten employees of local businesses recently completed a retail skills course at Tell training. The funding for this was provided by WDC and came out of the regular meetings we have with them.
